Properly gifting a Pitchman Pen

YES THERE IS A RIGHT WAY AND A WRONG WAY.
You have your Pitchman Pen in hand, you’re ready for the big moment with your client, ready to sign the agreement.  So how do you ensure maximum impact?

Follow these 5 easy steps to ensure you make it a memorable moment:

STEP #1 - THE PRESENTATION
Trust us, your customer will want to proudly display their Pitchman Pen. It will be a prized possession that they will cherish and prominently display for all to see. All Pitchman’s are presented in a signature black leatherette clear window display box and are delivered in our exclusive Pitchman signature gift wrapping and embossed with the Pitchman logo in real sealing wax.

STEP #2 - HOW YOU SAY “THANK YOU” MATTERS...A LOT!
You can’t just say...”Hey, I got a present for you...here”.  And then hand them the pen.  It is crucial to let your client know that the pen was especially created for them and to commemorate that moment.  It’s the next best thing to saying “I made this for you”.

EXAMPLE

”Frank, I want to thank you once again for your business. To commemorate this occasion I had this Ptichman Pen created just for you.  I want you to know your business, partnership and friendship is truly appreciated.”

The beauty of this approach is that you send a clear message to your customer that you care about THEM as a person.  The pen will be a constant reminder to your customer of your appreciation of them and their business. Each time they pick it up, they are sure to be reminded of the moment you formed the partnership.

STEP #3 - TIE THE MOMENT TO THE PEN
Ensure they use their new Pitchman Pen to sign the agreement.  You have now triangulated the pen, the agreement, and yourself to that moment.  In addition to them signing the agreement with the pen, have them use it to write/sign their name on a piece of paper.  This will further connect the pen to the moment.

STEP #4 - SPEND SOME TIME WITH THE PEN
Take some time to demonstrate the unique features of the pen. Tell them why you had it made especially for them.  Share why you selected the specific style and color of pen; why you thought it would be a good fit to their personality.  The longer you spend with the pen the stronger the bond you will create.

STEP #5 - CLOSE THE LOOP
Lastly, you need to confirm that the pen had the impact you intended. Just like in sales, you will ask your customer “What will you do with the pen?” Help them to paint the picture in their minds using the pen.  If they remark “I am putting this pen on the front of my desk and will only use it on special occasions”...Mission Accomplished!  If they say “I will use it everyday”...Mission Accomplished.
